All magical items, spells and effects within range begin to glow and continue to glow for the duration of the spell. The light level is a reflection of the power of the magic. For example, a level 1 item glows faintly while a level 10 item glows with the intensity of a 100 watt light bulb. The light bulb analogy should be used for each item (i.e., a level 1 item glows with the intensity of a 10 watt light bulb; a level 6 item as a 60 watt light bulb, etc.).
As rank improves, other effects are possible.
Rank | Ability | Description |
7 | Exclude Self | The mage can choose to exclude items the he is wearing or carrying. |
8 | Private View | The mage can choose to have the effect only visible to himself. |
9 | Exclude Others | The mage can choose to exclude items that designated targets (up to 5 at rank 9, 10 at rank 10) are wearing or carrying. |
10 | Illuminati | The magic items radiate heat, causing 1 point of damage to the wearer or bearer per level of magic. For example, if a target is carrying a level 4 magic item and a level 6 magic item, he would take 10 points of damage per round until he divested himself of the items, the Illuminati effect ended, or he moved out of range. A save is allowed each round for half damage. |
