Anyone in the area of effect (20 (+5 per rank) ft radius) who has a spell active on them is suddenly lit up like a torch and suffers 1d6 damage every round that this spell is in effect.
The effects of this spell end when the duration is up, or when an affected character no longer has a spell active on them.
An active spell is one cast by a mage with a duration, or a spell-like effect from a wand, staff, rod, etc. Permanent effects (any effect that has a permanent duration or is intrinsic to the creature) does not count as an active spell.
Creatures with magic resistance gain a +10 to their chance to resist this spell.
Although this spell has a duration, targets are only identified when the spell is initially cast. If the spell is still active, and someone who was not initially affected, casts a spell on themselves, they are not affected by the spell. Similarly, if someone with a spell on them enters the area of effect after the spell has been cast, they are not affected. Even someone who was initially affected, but leaves the area of effect and comes back, they effect ends on them.
This spell can be targeted in the air, on an object or on a person. In the latter two cases, the spell effect moves with the object or person. If targeted on a person, and they are not a willing target, they are allowed a save and, if made, the spell fails. |
