This spell may be used in one of two ways.
Forget Time
By means of this use of the Forget spell, the spellcaster causes from 1 to 4 creatures within a 20 foot diameter area to forget the events of the previous round (the one round of time previous to the utterance of the spell). For every three ranks, another round of past time is forgotten. This does not negate charm, suggestion, geas, quest, or similar spells, but it is possible that the being who placed such magic upon the recipient could be forgotten. From one to four creatures can be affected, at the discretion of the caster. If only one is to be affected, the recipient saves vs. spell with a -10 penalty; if two, they save with -5 penalties; if three or four are to be affected, they save normally. A priest's heal or restoration spell, if specially cast for this purpose, will restore the lost memories, as will a limited wish or wish, but no other means will do so.
Forget Spells
By means of this use of the Forget spell, the spellcaster causes a cleric or mage to forget some of their spells. If the caster has seen the target cast a certain spell, he may target that spell. Otherwise lost spells are determined randomly. The target is allowed a mental save versus this effect. Compare the result to the table below:
Save Result | Spells Lost |
Grievous Success | No spells lost |
Critical Success | One spell of the target's choice is lost |
Success | One random spell is lost |
Failure | Target loses (caster's rank/3; round up) spells. Determine randomly. |
96-100 | As failure but lost spells determined by caster. |
Target's protected by a Mind Cloak, or appropriate Circle of Protection (GK Spells, Greater Circle), are not affected by this spell. |
