The Lay Healer is able to greatly increase the natural healing of the target and turn wounds that would normal take days or weeks to heal, to only take hours. For every 2 ranks the Lay Healer is with this ritual, he heals 1 point of damage for every 10 minutes he spends performing this ritual. While there isn't a maximum duration for the ritual but the ritual must last at least one hour for the target to gain any permanent effect. It the ritual is interrupted before the first hour is completed, any healing with be lost over the next 10 minutes. So, a Lay healer who is rank 10 in the ritual can heal 5 points of damage every 10 minutes. Assuming he isn't interrupted during the first hour of the ritual, after 60 minutes he will have healed the target for 30 points of damage. After 2 hours, 60 points and so on.

At rank 10, the Lay Healer may heal two targets of damage at the same time (both benefiting equally for the full amount of potential healing).

At rank 15, he may heal 3, rank 20, 4 and at rank 22 he may heal up to 5 people at the same time.

The ritual consumes two healing ingredients for each person being healed (in addition to one set of ritual components).

This ritual will not repair major grievous wounds, like severed limbs and the like, but it does repair all other types of normal combat related damage that spells like Cure Wounds will heal.
