When the mage desires to use any of the following spells on themselves, they work automatically. No cast chance roll is made and no components (V, S, or M) are required though spell points are still used. Additionally, "casting" the spell is still an action that ends the round, which can be done by itself or after another half round action. Thus, the caster can make a half move and then cast but cannot attack and then cast or cast and then attack since both casting and attacking end the round. The spells include:
- Balance
- Feather Fall
- Jump
- Lasting Breath
The mage may also choose one spell from the following list. Once the spell is chosen, it cannot be changed.
- Constitution
- Dexterity
- Free Action (Tory)
- Growth
- Stoneskin
- Strength
