A Disruption Zone is spherical area with a diameter of 10 feet, plus 5 feet per rank. Any spells cast from within the Disruption Zone suffer penalty to the mage's cast chance of 2% per rank. This includes the Disenchanting Mage's spells if he tries to cast them from within the zone.
The Disruption Zone effect is not readily apparent. A mage who makes a successful Power Perception roll will notice the Disruption Zone and understand that it will have a negative effect on spell casting.
Other effects occur as the mage's rank with this spell improves:
- At rank 10, the range of any spells cast from within the Disruption Zone is reduced by 25%.
- At rank 15, any spells cast from within the Disruption Zone cost 1 additional spell point to cast.
- At rank 22, the effect of any spells cast from within the Disruption Zone is reduced by 50%.
