The target must remain in one place for the spell to take (and retain) effect. If the target moves, the spell is broken. Anyone who is a target of this spell cannot be seen, except by such spells as True Sight. Detect Invisibility or Detect Magic will not detect a blended target.
Note that movement refers to walking, running, etc. If the target moves a bit in place, the spell is not broken. For example, if the mage casts this spell on themselves before going to sleep, he will blend in with his sleeping furs. To an outside observer, the sleeping furs will appear to be empty. The target may make occasional moves in their sleep, such as rolling over, etc., which will not break the spell. If the target gets up for a nature call, the spell is broken.
At ranks 10 and higher, minor movement is allowed while remaining blended. The target can move up to 1 foot per round, per rank above 9th, without breaking the effects of blending. The target will have a feeling as they are moving if they are getting close to breaking the spell. |
