When this spell is cast, a thin bean of shimmering, kaleidoscopic light shoots from the wizard's towards his target. The victim is allowed a LUCK save at -20 to avoid the main thrust of the beam.
If the target is a cleric, and the save is failed, the cleric loses ((rank + 15) - 1d20) spells, randomly determined. For example, if a rank 5 caster strikes a cleric with this, the target loses 20, minus 1d20 spells. If the d20 roll is a 20, they lose no spells. If it is a 1, they lose 19 spells. Spells lost are randomly determined.
If the target is a mage, and the save is failed, the mage loses both memorized spells and spell points. In both cases, the formula is the same - ((rank + 15) - 1d20) but a separate roll is made for memorized spells and spell points.
In either case (cleric or mage), if the save is made, the target suffers only half the normal effect (loses half the number of spells/spell points indicated).
The spell has no effect on non-spellcasters, causing them no harm whatsoever.
Lost spells and spell points can be recovered in the normal manner. |
