The target gains a bonus of 5 (+2 per rank) to their Hide in Shadows skill rolls. The target must have Hide in Shadows skill for this spell to be effective. This spell does not work in magical light or if the target is carrying any sort of open light source. Additionally, if the target freezes in place, he gains a +20 to his roll.
The spell has additional effects as rank improves:
- Rank 3 - The target has the option of rolling a second time for Hide in Shadows skill rolls. If they choose to do this, they must accept the second roll, even if it is worse.
- Rank 5 - Infravision and Ultravision work at half effect. For example, if an opponent normally has 60 foot infravision, they would not be able to see the target with infravision until they were within 30 feet.
- Rank 8 - The target may roll twice for Hide in Shadows and take the better of the two rolls.
- Rank 10 - Target becomes invisible if they are in darkness or deep shadow, and freeze in place. For example, at rank 10, they gain a normal Hide in Shadows bonus of 25%. Prior to rank 10, if they froze in place, this bonus would increase to 45%. However, at rank 10, it becomes true invisibility for as long as they remain in place.
- Rank 15 - Infravision and Ultravision work at 25% effect. For example, if an opponent normally has 60 foot infravision, they would not be able to see the target with infravision until they were within 15 feet.
- Rank 20 - This spell grants true invisibility for as long as they remain in darkness or deep shadow and do not touch anyone or attack. If they touch or attack someone, they can be seen by their target but, if they retreat, invisibility reasserts itself after 1 round.
The effect lasts for 10 minutes per rank (6 hours at rank 21, 12 hours at rank 22). |
