Radiophone
Item Name:Radiophone
Cost:500
Weight:4
Unit:Each
Description:A radiophone is a short-wave communicator with a 1,000 km range. It is more versatile than a chronocom and can tune to just about any frequency in the radio spectrum. Basic models can manually scan the chronocom frequencies while more advanced (and expensive) models can be set for automatic scanning.

Radiophones capable of secure cryptographic communications have a base cost of 5,000 credits for a simple model, up to 50,000 for an advanced model with all of the bells and whistles and advanced methods of secure communications.

A standard powerclip is included in a radiophone and powers it for 1,000 hours of standard use, which is defined as 95% reception and 5% transmission. Heavier transmission times will decrease the operating time.
