CiaraCIARA: The young scientist breathes a sigh of relief when she sees that Volturnus is close. She looks at S'lch and asks in a hushed tone, "We're going to have to abandon ship, aren't we?"

CIARA: After a pause, she adds, "Are there enough remaining lifeboats for us to escape?"


CIARA (GM): Ciara is thinking that we'll need to shift gears to evacuating soon and thus will be looking for useful things to grab before we decide to head to the lifeboats.

S'LCH: "I don't know... I have not given up on this one yet." he replied to the human.

S'LCH: Pulling his pistol the Vrusk moves to try to help Jim if he can.

S'LCH: OOC look for a place to get off a shot with a Careful Aim bonus.. He might not get such a shot but if he does.

JimPart of Jim's mind somewhere deep and not connected to the part engaged in fighting wonders when did he become a hero? How many times in the Rook Arcology at Port Loren did he turn a blind eye to goons and bullies hurting others? He could not say. How many times did he use the distraction of said goons and bullies to pick a pocket or steal something? He could not say. But here he was on the back side of nowhere fighting pirates and trying to save people, what the frak? Yet it felt good, or at least it would feel good until he get's hit with that laser.

He does a mental shake and decides to embrace the heroism. From deep in his inner 'da' he summons calm and focus [rolled (53) Success] (PER check to channel inner spiritual reserves into the attack) and presses the attack on the pirate. He is Jim Jitsu, martial arts master, Jim Fairchild galactic hero, he is just Jim and in his mind he can see this pirate knocked unconscious and laying prone on the floor. "Kaiya!"

MykelMYKEL: Mykel blinks and shakes his head to try and clear the cobwebs caused by the stunner. “Not going down that easily.” He growls. “Time to get busy!” He swings the nightstick at the pirate…

Jim is unable to avoid the next laser shot and suffers a very painful burn to the left side of his abdomen. Despite the pain, he rallies and hits the pirate with his fist and follows it up with a kick. The pirate falls to the ground unconscious.

Jim took 12 damage from the laser pistol and delivered 8 points of damage to the pirate. Alsyson notes the laser hit with alarm and can see that Jim is suffering. Meanwhile, S'lch decides that his help may be needed. He heads back out the door the group had entered and moves down the passage. He moves up near Jim but is unable to get a clear shot with Jim and the pirate fighting in the doorway. He lines up the pistol prepared to shoot if something happens to Jim.

Despite the pain, Jim sees the other pirate, who had been torturing the crew member on the bridge, step into the officer's quarters and disappear from his sight.

Under the onslaught of both Ensign Fury and Carter, the pirate who threw the grenade has not been able to draw his knife and instead attempts to hit with his fists but George is able to avoid the feeble blows. George hits the man once for 4 damage but then Carter adds more blood to his already bloody weapon with a wicked blow that tears the pirate's spacesuit fabric and cracks a couple of ribs. He does 17 damage. The pirate is now at -10 to hit from the pain and damage.

Before the other pirate can fire another shot with the stunner, both Alzarix and Mykel hit him. Alzarix drives his vibroblade into the man's chest as Mykel hits him with the wicked club. The pirate drops to the ground dead. Mykel steps over the bloody corpse and moves around behind the remaining pirate as Gorman steps forward and grabs the stunner.

Ciara, now alone in the computer room, wonders what she should be doing but is at a loss.

GM: Go ahead and send your actions for turns 5 and 6.
