Character Notes
Background InfoKalin was born and raised in Leukish, the capital of the Duchy of Urnst. His father was talented with languages and worked as a translator for the court of Urnst and traveling merchants. This gift was passed on to young Kalin. Once he hit his teen years, he was allowed to travel alongside his father for several years as their caravans crossed much of Flanaess, primarily Western Nyr Dyv, Sheldomar Valley and Old Aerdy West.

Kalin took well to the social interaction across multiple languages but became disillusioned with the lack of moral integrity that many of the merchants and nobles displayed. Upon an extended break during the winter of this 19th year, Kalin chose to join the religious order of Pelor and no longer pursued the work of his father. Kalin was wiser and more knowledgeable for all his travels, which would serve him well as a cleric of Pelor.

After finishing his religious training, Kalin embarked on a mission, spreading the light of good into the darker parts of Flanaess. It was inevitable that his path would lead to trouble. Almost a year into his journeys, he was pressed into service while aiding the poor along the Wild Coast in Safeton.

Wielded by a Cleric of Pelor
+3 Flail (+15 SC, Dmg is 1d12+3) (+other applicable bonuses for STR and rank)

If a a hit is a critical or grievous, for the cost of 1 charge, it will Stun the victim for 2d6 attacks.
For a cost of 1 charge, the flail can cast a Cure Light wounds.
For a cost of 2 charges, the flail can cast a Cure Serious Wounds.
For a cost of 3 charges, the flail can cast a Cure Critical Wounds.
The only way to recharge the flail, is to place it on an Altar dedicated to Pelor. Charges are returned at a rate of 1 point per 2 hours resting upon the alter.
When wielded by a good cleric not of Pelor the flail is a +10/+2.
When wielded by a good non-cleric, it is +5/+1.
When wielded by a neutral character it is a magical +0/+0 flail.
When wielded by an evil person, the flail is a -15/-6 weapon that does normal flail damage.

Cloak of VestmentsThis magical cloak has the ability to change its appearance and function to suit Kalin's needs. It provides a base magical bonus like a +1 cloak of protection. Kalin can 'reverse' or be folded to change the cloak into another form. I'll list out several forms to give you a sense of what I was thinking the edge could eventually do. It doesn't make sense for it to do all these things right now but if you like this idea you can determine what's appropriate for now.



· Nondescript traveling cloak - This is the base form. It's your generic adventuring cloak but can assume the following forms at will. Each change takes 1 full round.

· Cape of Pelor - This is a clearly religious looking garment. It would make Kalin look like a religious official of Pelor. I could see its power in this form being Protection from Evil. There could also be some bonus when doing public speaking with the intent to influence for religious purposes.

· Allows Protection from Evil at Kalin's Overall Level, once per day at a rank equal to Overall Level.

· Minor noble outfit - The cloak would transform into a full outfit of a minor nobleman. It would be appropriate for state dinners or formal audiences. The bonus could be to conversation and diplomacy.

· Beggar's rags - The cloak could now hide the prosperous adventure's clothing and gear and allow him to pass as a pauper.

--Mending - Rents and tears in the cloak will mend overnight.

--Protection from Evil - Kalin gains a +10 to Defense when attacked by evil
creatures and opponents. This available in any form the cloak takes.

--Protection from Undead - Kalin is allow a normal save to reduce the
effects of life draining attacks by half. Thus, if attacked by a Wraith
that drains 3 CON, Kalin is allowed a Normal Save and, if successful, will
only be drained 1 CON. If the CON drain is 1 point, then a save reduces it
to 0 drain.

--Cloak of Warmth - Kalin gains a bonus of +20 to saves vs cold and ice, and
all damage is reduced by 50%. Thus, a failed save indicates half damage
while a successful save indicates 25% damage.
